hmmm… seems interesting..

I went out to buy some material on Monday and while I was gone Simon happened to see a few minutes of a new Canadian Talk show called “The Gill Deacon Show“… well really I am not too sure if it is new it is but it is new to me….

Anyway he told me about it because the segment that he saw a few minutes of was about EC and the guy was talking about how his dd was going already diaper free etc… I went to check out the site and found out that her topics are really cool… not only did she have a guy talking about EC but on the same show she had a couple that are trying to produce no garbage also… (check out their blog here…)

Yesterday’s show talked about Homeopathic meds and remedies for the flu etc…

I think I am going to tune in at times and see what she is talking about, some comments were asking for a segment on vaxes… I am not into daytime TV but this seems interesting…

doc appt’s and bummis….

Yesterday we went to a Well baby visit for all three boys…. the boys hadn’t been in a year and a half so I though that I should bring them in as we were going for Khéna anyways…

First I stopped off to see my grandma and got a few pics with her and the boys.. well…. Colin didn’t want to so he’s not in them…

Isn’t she beautiful! She is 83 BTW 🙂

Great-Grandma, Xavier and Khéna

Great-Grandma and Khéna

We the headed to the doc… I don’t do well baby visits often since I don’t really see the point in them since the schedule is really only for vaccines and of course I am completely against routine vaxes, especially for young children whose immune systems do not stand a chance … but I want to make sure to keep our family doc and keep a good relationship with him since he is a great doc and Quebec has a shortage… the exams were brief as they always are, and he is great with kids… talking to them, playing with them, engaging them in conversation… and he said to come back next year with Xavier and Colin…

Khéna’s appt was pretty brief also… He had nothing to say about him being born at home unassisted, though he would have liked a “at birth” weight. He asked his permission to touch him and talked to him during the exam. Khéna was calm through it all… he asked about vit D and Vax and I told him that we won’t be doing them… he asked why… I told him… he said that he doesn’t agree but that it is my choice and left it at that… he doesn’t give vaxes in his office anyways so really it wasn’t a problem… right before he went to weigh him he mentioned the birth weight again saying that it is useful to know if he is gaining… I kind of smirked and said that I am pretty sure that there was no problem….

We got the scale and he understood what I meant… but… he wasn’t the 16 pounds that we thought (Simon weighed him on the bathroom scale on wednesday)… So yesterday, At 7 weeks 3 days, he weighed in at 17 lbs 4 oz…!!!!!! meaning that he has been gaining more than a pound a week! I couldn’t believe it… but then I can… he is heavy and rolly and oh so squishy!!!

Buddha Baby

After seeing the doc I went to one of my favourite stores….Bummis!!!

They have bins under the counters with things half price so I had fun picking out some new covers… for cheap!!

Here’s what I found… aren’t they great!!!?

Not much to say…

Things are quiet here…

No rants to make, no gripes, no worries.. could sleep a bit more but it is just a question of going to bed earlier. Khéna pretty much sleeps through the night and goes 5-6 hours without nursing… so he is not at all the cause for our lack of sleep…

It is great having Simon home.. he just got the final amounts that we will be getting during his leave and we won’t have a problem…. so until June we are both Stay at home Parents… It makes having three kids a lot easier…

Khéna sleeps a lot and doesn’t like to be out and about too much… he sleeps well in the wrap but only if we are walking a lot… otherwise he would rather be laying on me on the lazyboy.. he doesn’t want to sleep in the Amby either during the day… but in the evening, after the kids are asleep and he has been pottied, I can put him down in there and be get some stuff done…

Though I am in front of the computer most if the day I am limited to one hand because of the way things are set up.. so I don’t do much else but surf, read and I have been updating my website… then I am going to give my blog a fresh look I think…

I have been thinking about homeschooling more and unschooling.. I really need to deschool myself more.. I will be writing a post on some thoughts and fears that I may have….

On another note… Yesterday I bought my first Babyhawk Mei Tai, well really my first MT all together. I am so excited! I decided to go all out and and get it custom made.. I think it is going to look great!!! I can’t Wait to get it!!!!
So here are a few new pics of the boys…

big boy :)

well… the nurse came on Wednesday and it was a great visit. She was completely in awe at the UC and asked tons of questions and loved hearing the answers… especially since she saw that I had done my research and that the answers made sense… she also checked out the pics a bit and found it cool that hen she was looking at the pics she was standing right in the place that he was actually born…
She did a few reflex tests and took his weight… from the 9lbs 8oz he was two days after birth and has been gaining well and on wednesday he weighed in at 11lbs 3oz… wow… such a big boy already!!!

Grumble…

The civil Status Office called me this morning. They got the forms to register Khéna’s birth but she said that she would be sending us another form that needed o be signed by a doctor. I told her that that was the reason that I had included the letter from the midwife. But guess what… they seemed to have misplaced the letter from the midwife. The lady had no clue that the letter was in the envelope. I told her that I made sure that it was in there because I knew that they needed it and I asked her to look in the envelope again… she said that she is not the one that opens the mail….

Khéna started to cry, probably feeling my stress rising and she said that she would see what she could do and call me back… about an hour later she did and said that she talked to her superior and asked if she could have the name and phone number of the midwife. So I handed that over to her. Hopefully that will be enough. They will call me back with news.
Another phone call today was from a Nurse at the CLSC… she will be coming by tomorrow to see us… It is a nurse that I know and that I talked about UC while I was pregnant so it will be fun to see her and to share how things went…she was a bit surprised when she had found out what I was planning, and was bit surprised that it had worked out so maybe it will give her a good view that birth can actually be natural.
