Ahh…. that felt nice…

My nextdoor neighbor got a hot tub recently and invited me to come over with the boys this afternoon…. I know that hot tubs are not too good when pregnant because of high temps, especially temps over 100 so I asked her before at what temp she maintains it… 92-94!! So perfectly fine for me to stay as long as I want….

So me and the boys headed over and soaked in the hot tub for about 20 min… Once Colin got a bit less shy and started liking the water and bubbles he would “swim” between my neighbor and I and when she had him I was able to relax and get some jets on my back….she was also having tons of fun with Xavier showing him all the buttons and Colin with him calling her “mamie” (grandma)…

I am very happy to have a neighbor like her… she has 2 grown children, she works as a teacher at an adult-ed school a few minutes away so is home often… We share recipies and cooking tricks, I bring her treats, bread and other things that I make and she lends me garden tools and other things….

We are having trouble with our pool losing water and I went to get a replacement piece and was having trouble getting the other off and she brought me a tool and helping hands and then offered her garden hose to help fill the pool back up (since I had to take a bit of water out to change the piece….

Anyways… she told me that I can make a “reservation” in the hot tub at any time, especially just before going to bed after the kids have gone to sleep… I think as the pregnancy progresses I won’t hesitate to take her up on that offer…

Phases…

Well, we are in a phase that both boys are sleeping though the night and only coming into bed in the morning to nurse… It feels really good to have a full nights sleep, even though I don’t really notice when I nurse during the night… Colin has been joining us at about 5am, sometimes later, Xavier at around the same time… and they have both been sleeping in at times… (of course not the same days)….

Colin is also in the phase of not napping at all in the daytime anymore… however, by about 5 pm he is ready to fall… So, the last two days he fell asleep in the late afternoon and has had a lot of trouble falling asleep at night… Full blown Tantrums, wanting to nurse constantly but wanting to switch every two seconds, pushing against me etc… Thankfully I have Simon’s encouragment and the reminder that it is just a phase and like all other phases it will be short lived…

Xavier never had tantrums like this, Colin is just something else… who would have thought that this quiet little boy would turn into a devil child at times… Maybe he was reacting to that whole 666 date thing that everyone was talking about yesterday that I am still a bit confused about… (it wasn’t year 6 it was 2006 and it wasn’t the sixth year of the millenia as people where saying, it is the seventh year…) anyways…

Phases… How can people believe that we should know what to expect with a child when we are goin through these constant phases in their devolopment… the good ones and the bad ones… we get though them one day at a time and eventually they will pass…. that’s life… just one phase after another…

What a great feeling….

The babe is moving more and more now these last few days… for a few weeks now I have been feeling flutters but now I am feeling way more movement… it is still light but noticable…

This is my favorite part of pregnancy… feeling the babe move inside, feeling the life that growing inside me… it is when I start feeling the babe that the pregnancy becomes real to me… Hearing the heart is the first step… but actualy feeling the movement is just the best and just those movements excuse any of the discomforts that may come with pregnancy…

We can record everything about pregnancy (the heartbeat, take pictures etc)… all but the feeling of the babe move inside…

picnic in the park…

At the last minute today I found out that there was a picnic at a park not too far away put together by the community organization that I volunteer for…

I met up with a few friends there and the kids played and had tons of fun… There was only one thing that I would have changed though, there was a mom there with her son that was probably about Xavier’s age that was very aggressive. It was aggressive in a way that threw me off… Xavier has been aggressive at times but it is usualy when he wants something or when he can’t express himself… he has never just went out of his way to lash out…

This boys was very different though, he almost scared me… It was sad too… He tried to push Colin out of the way at the top of the slide and when Xavier got in his way (he was protecting Colin) He cornered Xavier on top of the slide and started hitting and pushing him repeatedly, Xavier defended himself a bit but just wanted to get away… I told the little boy to move over and let him go and he ignored me and I had to grab his foot a bit to get him to back off enough for Xavier to get out of the corner and go down the slide… Xavier was crying and said that the little boy hit him… I said I know and then the little boy said something to the effect of “I am just mean”… He probably hears that so often that now just lives up to it… it is quite sad….

Xavier got hit and pushed at least 3-4 times more, Colin pushed and slapped and about 5-6 complained about him also… Each time he he did something his mom took him and threatened to go home if he wasn’t nice or if he did one more thing and each time he would say he would be nice and he would go play for about a minute until he did something else… she never did bring him home and just continued with empty threats and calling him names…

The kids knew to stay clear of him and we did have a lot of fun…

Xavier played mostly with Gabrielle….my friend Isabelle’s older daughter… and he is growing up so much… they even hung out together in the tunnel and ran around the park and just had fun… Xavier insisted on having his coat on even though it was a gorgeous day and he was sweating and he also had his “bag”… our old camera bag that he put a toy, a set of old keys, his money purse that is in the shape of a mouse and the mangeled head of a toy dog that Simon went over with the mower…
Anyways… I got a few pics… (or well… more then a few 🙂 )

Mowing the lawn…

Simon mowed the lawn this weekend when we had a break from the constant rain we have been having the last few days… well more like weeks…

Anyways… Monday he was home and though it was a bit cool we spent most of the day outside and had fun… When Simon started to mow the lawn Colin wanted to go see him. Xavier has understood to stay next to Simon when he is mowing the lawn yet we don’t yet trust Colin… so the safest and happiest place for Colin was on his Daddy’s back… He stayed there for quite a while…

Here of course are a few pics….
