update on the shirt…
I shirred that first shirt that I made tonight and it looks so much better!
at least in my opinion!
8 years…
Yesterday was our 8 year anniversary… wow… I can’t believe that it has been 8 years already… then of course… that day seems as though it was an eternity ago…
My mom was here for two days to visit and when she actually showed up I realized that Simon and I could probably go out without the older boys… Khéna of course is too young to be left for an hour or two… so Simon and I went out with Khéna and went to the little Thai restaurant that I love. It was the first time we have been out to supper together like that in about 5 years… of course we had Khéna… but it is not the same…
After the restaurant we went to a little cafe for dessert and coffee and then walked around a bit before heading home… of course the boys were still awake and had just got out of the bath when we got home…
I was a great evening…

My first shirts!
ok… this was my test shirt just to practice putting things together etc (no pattern)… the fabric is a bit stiff (it was cheap and I bought it to practice with) and it makes me look a bit pregnant from the side… so I don’t know if I am going to try to fix it a bit so I can wear it or what…
anyway… here it is…
And then I had enough confidence to make this one… which I am pretty happy with… I was about to make it about the same style but didn’t have anymore of the same elastic… So… I got out the elastic thread and shirred it… I didn’t know how to shirr but it worked…
Now I am thinking about shirring the bodice part of the first shirt to see if that looks better…
