quote….

I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less “showily”. Let him come and go freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself… Teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experiences.

getting back into the routine…

Last week I finally got back in the pool to do laps…

My trip back west gave me 5 extra pounds though surprisingly I haven’t gained any inches and even more surprisingly things are filling as well or even bigger than before…I am not too sure about how that happened…I bought another pair of jeans last week and bought a size 16… I never thought that I would do that so soon… It makes me feel great though!

now I want to start losing again…

I thought that getting back in the pool would be hard… but again to my surprise it isn’t.. the first day my rhythm wasn’t there as much but it came back pretty quickly and today I am at the same level as I was before the summer hours hit…

So I am getting back into my routine of 2-3 nights a week and it really shows in the way I feel overall…

Getting out and swimming for an hour makes me feel great… I sleep better and the next day and for the next few days I feel that It gives me energy and I feel less lazy… I want to do things…

I even clean the house more…

Près du Coeur

monday morning…

three boys stomp by…

the little one falling behind…

they demand breakfast…

but first they have to pee…

so they stand on either side of the toilet while the little one looks on… when he is taller he will most likely join in..

I get the croissants out…

General Grievous brings me the peanut butter…

Obi wan runs away with the jar’s top…

Food in hand we head to the living room…

I am informed that I should close my eyes…

Why? I ask…

So that I don’t see what is starting on tv… I don’t like the show… so of course the best solution is for me to close my eyes while they watch it…

ahh…. the logic of a six year old…

mornings like this make me smile…
