Yesterday the boys and I headed out to the cabin to see my mom…
Not only were we heading out there to hang out, but my mom had asked me to bring the boys so that they could stay over a night or two.. and Xavier didn’t forget it and kept asking me when they could…so I got them ready and just before lunch headed onto the ferry and towards the cabin…
I love this stove…
and the bath… we light a fire under it to heat it up…
it is all my uncles land and there are well marked trails everywhere… Xavier now knows two trails and is really starting to explore by himself out of sight… but mostly they stayed around…
and loved sitting around the fire…
Colin had no problem with staying in the end… didn’t even want to say bye…
Xavier on the other hand wanted to stay but didn’t want me to leave… I gave him the choice of coming back with me or staying at the cabin but the choice was really hard for him…
after staying around for too long trying to get him to decided I finally ended up leaving even if there were a few tears… knowing well that he would be fine soon after and that he would have a lot of fun…
A quick call a little later confirmed it…
how cool! The pictures are adorable. How fun for Xavier to be able to explore on his own! Isn’t untouched nature the best?!?! I wanna come next time!
I hadn’t noticed Xavier’s cool wrist tools – are those superhero tools? So cute!
yes… one is a communicator and the other a laser….
but he isn’t the superhero… he is the bad guy… lol
so beautiful! your family and the cabin!
I love these photos, its my kinda life!!!!
I love your blog, its very inspirational. We live in the mountains and are trying to live more and more like this every day.
The cabin is gorgeous, your boys too.
Look forward to reading more of your adventures in unschooling,
