The burner that I use the most on my stove stopped working last week… I am starting to hate this range. I spent all November of last year without an oven, and with the water damage and holidays coming up, I just don’t want want to deal with this right now…
So I ignored it. That didn’t work.
I called a repair man to see how much it would cost for him to see what the problem was… and then upon hearing the cost… I said I would call back… and I didn’t…
That didn’t work.
I looked online to find the problem myself and when I saw the prices that a new element would cost it made me almost faint… I decided to wish really hard that it would repair itself…
That didn’t work either…
So I did what any sensible person would do. I went up to it turned it on and when it didn’t turn on I got frustrated and hit it…
and guess what…
It worked.
Hahaha, sounds like something I would do. =) I hope it keeps working. Maybe something was just loose or unconnected and you jarred it back into place. Is this an element on the new oven you got last year, or is it a separate range? Because if it’s part of the new one, wouldn’t it be under warranty still?
haha, that’s great! this gave me the laugh I needed, thanks. I concur with Lindsay above: that is also something I would totally do! LOL
Awesome! Like the pp’s question, isn’t this part of your new stove that still might be under warranty? If you smack the ceiling of your bedroom, will it make the water damage go away? Just thinking…
I was able to use it twice and then it stopped…. but hitting it again made a spark somewhere under the glass and I was able to pinpoint the problem, I opened the top up and saw the problem right away. I can’t fix it myself (well maybe I could if I had the tools) but I was able to figure out what I nee, part number and all, and then call the repair man. Hopefully doing that will save him the visit of figuring it out and instead be able to find the solution and come prepared.
The Warranty that came with it was for a year… and I have had it for two now. I didn’t take the extended warranty.
*sigh* like we really needed another expense around the holidays…
I really appreciate your blog! I am wondering if you could recommend some books on parenting; I am having a lot of difficulties understanding my daughter, who just turned three, we keep running into conflicts and getting really frustrated with each other. Any assistance/advice you can give I really appreciate. Thank you.
