I have an invisible counter on my blog… I like knowing who reads, where they come from, both links and countries, provinces. states, cities… what they read when they are here and how long they stay…
Surprisingly since I put the counter on last year I have had more than 40 000 hits…
Sometimes people come in through links from other blogs, If I don’t already know that blog it gives me a new blog to read… sometimes it reminds me that I haven’t checked in on that blogger in a while…
Some links come from direct search engine searches… “paxye’s rant” etc…
some come though obscure search engine searches… “what not to eat while pregnant”…”pirate ship image”…some keywords that bring up my blog are weird and are certainly not what people are looking for… some searches hopefully give another perspective to the person that comes upon my page… (CIO, FF, Circ etc)
Some people follow links from my signature on boards and blogs that I have left comments on..
Some people people subscribe to my blog and use the link that they get by e-mail…
Some still come through my old blogspot blog…
Someone comes here through my profile on a french alumni site that I have found a few highschool friends through… (who are you?)
Some other Quebec people come by often… some I know who they are… some I would love to find out…
A few come here from “sept04spiceitup” a private board group made from some of people from the birthboard on BBC that I used to go to… I have no clue what they are saying…. If you are talking about how cute my kids are then please leave a comment 😉
if you want to talk behind my back go ahead…. but please cut and paste people,… ignorance is bliss 😉
Anyway, I love seeing who is reading… it was surprising to see the numbers go up so much when I became officially overdue and then when Khéna was born… it surprises me to see how many people come to see almost everyday…
I never actually thought that people would actually read me when I started blogging…
What service do you use for this?
I am seriously obsessed with my sitemeter! I found some people were coming to me through an API board in another city and I am dying to know why! LOL Who put a link to my blog there, hmmmm?
I should have mentioned that! I’ll edit it in the original post also….
I use both my server’s stats and Statcounter (http://www.statcounter.com/)
just keeping up with original bbc mama’s!!
You probably saw a whole lot of me around the time you were really close to having Khena. I admit, I was obsessed!
I came from bbc, originally. I love reading about what you have to say 🙂 BTW- your baby has to be the fatest & squishiest baby I’ve ever seen! I love looking at him! Your milk must be all cream 😉
Hello from Scotland,
your MDC signature caught my eye on the due dates forum and I checked out your blog from there. I liked it so much I read most of your archives!
I think your boys are lovely and since Colin is similar age to Sandy and you had Khena quite close to my Claire I do pop in quite often to see how you all are doing! I do agree that your milk must be all cream – Khena looks fantastic!
This post made me think… Why do I come here and read you each and every day? Hmmm… that’s a good one. Well, I honestly think it’s for the warm feeling of reassurance. Just to see that I’m not alone, just to feel that I’m not THAT crazy 😉 to have made the choices that I have made for me and my family… I sometimes get that same feeling when I breastfeed wide awake at 3 a.m. and I see a light lighting up across the street..!
Michele…. that is the same reason that I don’t hang out or talk with parents that are mainstream. I would rather have less friends that have the same overall philosophy or respect toward kids and go to AP/NFL boards, blogs etc…
Ania… wow… scotland!! that is just another place that I would love to go!!
