My lights arrived yesterday and my website is ready to share….
Here it is!
(The above image that links to the new site is my new business card)
I am quite happy with the way that it turned out, especially that I can not only showcase and sell photos that I already have directly from the site, but I will be able to easily make password protected galleries for clients and they will be able to order pictures on their own at any time.
Yay!
I would love to have your opinion!
Its awesome!! Willa is so gorgeous in that picture…
Martine… of course I would LOVE the help, call me later… we are overdo for supper also!! I will also try to see what I can do for the language bug. Thanks for the feedback 🙂
Your site is beautiful! something that has take on here in Ottawa is mini-sessions which is very affordable for the client as well as lucrative for the photographer. The session lasts 15 minutes and the photographer snaps as many shots of the children in that time frame. Then they offer a set number of photos – (2-4 5×7’s) for $50 plus clients can pay more for extra prints..
this is how we had lovely photos taken of our kids, and the photographer had people booked from 9-4 every 14 minutes in her home studio. A contract came out earlier – with guidelines (wait until 5 minutes outside in the car) come in… no travelling around the house etc…)
They were themed… Easter shots, and thanksgiving shots, and the photographer we used does holiday shots in lots of time for folks to get the photos for families.

That would be a great idea if I could have a home studio. When I worked as a portrait photographer, I was the queen of fast sessions. During the holidays, the studio was double booked and I had 7 1/2 minutes per family… I know I could do it and I know that there is a clientele for it but sadly, I just don’t have the space in our home.
I wonder what I could do to meet that clientele without working for free (or losing money)? hmmm…
the photographer we used simply had a very small space in her house – I think it was a front vestibule that had a drop piece of laminate (her whole floor was not laminate – just a piece of maybe 6 x 6 or something) and a white drop sheet behind and her lamps. I was impressed how little space she had. But really – it was just for one child or two to sit in. here is her website http://www.saramcconnell.ca/ check out her studio shots to see how little backdrop you actually see.
You take fantastic photos – there must be a way to find a space that would work. Perhaps in exchange for taking photos for someone’s family they could lend you their space `1x month. Or go on location just before the holidays for some holiday shots at a suitable outdoor xmasy location.
WAW i checked out all your website and i am so impressed by the quality of this website, made in a minimum of time. what an efficiency (having made 3 websites in the past i know it’s a lot of work).
the nature photos are impressive and of course the kids are gorgeous!
all the best with this adventure.
the suggestion of the previous person seems great.
to make it more affordable but have it more fast…
all the best
