From foodgawker… to a blog with a post about Vanilla extract I found a link to the Organic Vanilla Bean Company…
I couldn’t believe the prices!!! I choose 10 bourbon beans and 1/2 lb of Tahitian vanilla beans and with the exchange and the shipping it came out to about 40$ canadian…
I ordered them last week and I got them today… I have more than 70 beans!!!
omg… I am going to be having so much fun with Vanilla!!
Holy. That’s ridiculous. I’m so glad you did it though before I had a chance to get my affairs in order. Now I can see what they look like! I’m totally going to see if anyone else here wants to get in on this.
Wow, there’s going to be no shortage of vanilla around your house. I presume your experiment is going well then too?
I’ve gotten some from there before too, I made vanilla for everyone for Christmas gifts. I’ve also made more tapioca pudding then I want to admit with them. SOOOOO good!! I’ve got an amazing recipe for it here: http://www.hippiehousewife.com/2008/10/tapioca-pudding.html
Wow! That is a lot of vanilla. I’ve got to check out your link! Have fun with all of that vanilla.
Aimee… that is the same recipe that I use… though I use coconut milk in there instead of all milk…
omg… rich and delicious!!
