I got this shot using the kids camera…
This was a few hours ago and now I have trouble seeing any normal skin on his back and his front is full and it has spread to his legs and face also…
He isn’t complaining at all though…
update… this ended up to be Fifth Disease.
That is crazy! With it going from kid to kid it probably isn’t an allergy thank goodness! Besides the potential of being a virus, have you used any new lotions, soaps, detergents, etc in your house???
Could it be measles? or Rubella? I can’t remember if you’re vaccinating or not. And if it is, well, natural immunity is best ;D
Hope you figure it out soon.
birdie…
no new nothing… we use plain water to clean the boys and we use soapnuts for cleaning clothes, but we have been using them for more than a year…. besides that no other chemicals or scents…
I am really hoping that it is not an allergy though…
metismommy…
No vax here… never… but it doesn’t look at all like those… it looks and acts like hives…
I am not a medical professional by any means, but I had what appears to be the exact same thing during the later stages of my pregnancy (my daughter is eight months old) and I was told by three different doctors that it was “contact dermatitis”. One suggested a bath in mayonnaise, one instructed me to take Benadryl quick dissolve strips every few hours. What ended up working the best for me was Eucerin cream and petroleum jelly. Of course, I was very slippery for a few days. I hope things get better for you!
i have a 13 year old daughter who recently has been getting the same exact rashes all over her. when you touch them it feels like welts and they come and go each day. she recently traveled out of state to las Vegas for softball and thats when they started. shes had them for 6 days? any suggestions? all of her vaccinations are taken care of.
For us, this ended up to be Fifth Disease… Pretty harmless and common.
I am by no means an expert but If it was after a trip it could be something that she came in contact with (new soap, perfumes, new detergent, food etc)
oh… Vaccinations are not always effective, nor do they last, so don’t rule out anything.
Hi 🙂
I remember when my dsd had fifth’s – looked just like that. I remember thinking it looked so painful, but she wasn’t too bothered.
Janet: You mention that your daughter traveled to Vegas recently? I would wonder about bed bugs. Especially if they are coming and going every day. They are rampant in Vegas and often brought home and if a person is particularly sensitive, look very much like welts. Just a thought…
