Kim, you can get them with non prescription glass in them too 🙂

I think there are a few reason that they are so cheap. The main reason is that the glasses come from China. Usually that would make me think twice but then I thought about it… The frames and lens that my local optometrists have most likely come from China too but are just assembled here. Another thing is that because they are an online store, they don’t need that many employees, the costumer does all of the work, they don’t have an actual brick and mortar store to pay for, they don’t have to buy any frames upfront and they have a considerable amount of customers.

Also, Glasses are horribly over priced to begin with… it makes me think of fountain soda… a bag of fountain soda flavouring costs about 10-12$ and comes to pennies a glass…. a big chain might sell that glass for a dollar, a smaller restaurant 2$, a bar for 3$ and an amusement park for 4$… It is all about profit… Especially here in Canada where there are not as many discount places, glasses cost so much because they can. They can charge whatever they want because people that need glasses will pay it…
